OK, it's probably not very exciting in the grand scheme of things,
but for us - who are complete novices when it comes to 'growing your own' -
the harvesting of our
first ever decent crop of nectarines
is a pretty major event.
In previous years the fruits have either shrivelled
and died at an early stage, been attacked by
wasps or been gobbled by the wild boar.
So, to have three dozen fruit for the first time
is one of those '365 Days of Happy' moments.
